去年の9月から
保護犬の預かりボランティアをしている
いや、僕がしているというのは誤り
そんなこと言うのは、妻に申し訳ない
預かりボランティアをはじめたいと考えて
色々探して行動して、実際に犬を受け入れて、
僕の何倍もお世話してケアしているのは妻である
妻自身がずっと前からやりたかったことであり、
本人の意思ではあるが、日々、犬の幸せを考えて
できる限りを尽くす妻を見ていると、僕がやっているのはボランティアのお手伝い
もしくはただの真似事だと思える
この懺悔のような文章はさておき、
僕と妻と犬の暮らしが4ヶ月くらい経つ今、
ここに記録として少しずつ残せたらと思っている
犬の名前はHarvey （ハービー）
推定10歳の男の子
犬種はトイプードル
毛並みのせいなのか犬というより、ちっちゃいヒツジに見えたり、アルパカに見えたりする
とっても甘えん坊で人間が大好き！
めちゃくちゃ寝る
というか大体寝てる
たぶん人の膝の上で寝るのが、彼にとって最高の幸せ
他の犬へは、たまに吠えることがあるけど、威嚇じゃなくて仲良くしたいアピールの激しい「ぼくHarveyです！！！こんにちは！！！」の声デカすぎフレンドリーボーイ
日常で噛んだり吠えたりは皆無
（熟睡を無理やり起こしたらガルガルされた程度）
Harvey の詳しい過去は分からない
でも良くないブリーダーの元で、繁殖犬として働かされていたそうだ
糖尿病を患っており、合併症で両目とも白内障が進行している
歯も5本ほどしか残っていない
あと原因がハッキリしない咳がある
年齢もあると思うが、上記のほとんど過去の環境が大きく影響しているだろう
今はとっても幸せそう！
幸せそうなHarvey を見ているとこっちまで幸せになる

I have been volunteering to take care of shelter dogs since last September.
No, it is incorrect to say that I have been doing it, my wife has actually been doing it.
My wife wanted to start volunteering to take care of dogs, so she searched around, took action, actually accepted a dog, and has been taking care of him more than I do.
She has wanted to do this for a long time, so it is what she wanted to do, but It is quite hard work to see my wife doing everything she can to make a dog happy every day.
I can say that what I am doing is a volunteer's help or a copycat.
This penance aside, I would like to leave a few words as a record now that my wife and I and the dog have been living together for about four months.
The dog's name is Harvey.
He is a boy, estimated to be 10 years old.
He is a toy poodle.
Because of his fur, he looks more like a tiny sheep or an alpaca than a dog.
He is very sweet and loves people!
He sleeps a lot. In fact, he sleeps all day long.
He is probably happiest when he sleeps in a person's lap.
He sometimes barks at other dogs, but it is not a threat, just a strong appeal to get along with them.
No biting or barking on a daily basis.
(I woke him up from a sound sleep and he yelped when I woke him up)
I don't know the details of Harvey's past, but I heard that he was worked as a breeding dog by a bad breeder.
He is diabetic and has cataracts in both eyes due to complications.
He has only about five teeth left.
He also has a cough, the cause of which is not clear.
His condition is partly due to his advanced age, but mostly probably due to his past environment.
Anyway He seems very happy now!
Seeing Harvey so happy makes me happy too.
He has very few teeth, so his tongue is always sticking out, which is cute.
